The Small Business Administration runs a program called Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). It aims to help veteran-owned small businesses access federal contract awards.
General Technics has gained certification as a SDVOSB. If you work for a federal agency, your orders with us contribute to the US Federal Government’s stated aim to award at least 5% of all federal contracting dollars to SDVOSBs each year.
The owner and founder of General Technics is Lou Cetrangelo, a veteran sailor who served in the 1960s. One of the highlights of his time in the Navy was being part of the crew of the USS Princeton LPH5 when it recovered the capsule of the Apollo 10 spacecraft.

After leaving the Navy, Lou went back to college and became a mechanical design engineer. He went on to design computer peripherals, including being part of the team that designed a Navy Standard Printer, which replaced the basic teletype machine. Then, in the early 1980s Lou founded General Technics. Initially, the company produced step-by-step manuals to help anyone assemble their own personal computer, as well as offering components and complete system kits.
Today, General Technics has grown to become a leader in custom rackmount computer systems, serving government agencies, contractors, and consumer markets alike. You can be sure that the same technical rigor and quality that Lou believes in is delivered to every single customer.
